Our Providers
Clinton D Damron, DO attended Northern Arizona University and received his bachelor’s degree, then continued his education at Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Damron is now a Board-Certified physician specializing in Family Practice. He began working with Family Medical Center in 2006, and currently serves as the clinic’s Medical Director. His medical interests include pediatrics, diabetes, and other chronic conditions. Dr. Damron also serves patients at Mt Graham Regional Medical Center.
When he is not in the clinic, Dr. Damron likes spending time with his wife and children, enjoying life in Southern Arizona!
Dr. Damron is a caring and dedicated physician who treats his patients as if they were family, and he is proud to serve the people of the Gila Valley.
Matthew R Sampson, MD was born and raised in the small town of Hanford, California. After high school, Dr. Sampson attended Brigham Young University, served as an LDS missionary in Ecuador, and eventually received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah. He attended medical school at New York Medical College. Before coming to Safford, he completed his residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. His medical interests include joint injections, diabetes, asthma, COPD, pediatrics, and sports medicine. Dr. Sampson also serves patients at Mt Graham Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Sampson has enjoyed living in the Gila Valley with his wife and children. He is happy to serve our rural community and practice medicine by building lasting relationships with his patients.

Trina Gomm, FNP-BC graduated from Safford High School and went on to Eastern Arizona College to earn her Associate’s degree. She then continued her education at Northern Arizona University, where she earned both her bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Nursing. After finishing school, Trina became a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Trina is now an integral part of Family Medical Center, providing care to patients of all ages. Her areas of interest include pediatrics, women’s health, and chronic conditions such as diabetes. She strives to provide patients with compassionate care.
In her free time, Trina enjoys life in the Gila Valley with her husband and children.
Candice Damron, FNP-C was raised in the Gila Valley. She earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. Candice has several years of experience as a respiratory therapist and a registered nurse, working with patients at both Northwest Oro Valley Medical Center and Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center. Candice is now a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner serving patients in a clinical setting at Family Medical Center. She strives to provide her patients with the personalized care and attention they deserve.
